    It’s been said many times here that a genuine valve cover seal requires no sealant if the cover is straight and true and the bolt holes are not concave by over tightening.

    what he means is you have to reform the metal on the roker covers with bull nose pliars , so as the new rubber gasket is snug in the housing , then nip them up , its like 3nm so less than half hand tight, just a nip, tighten it too much and the rocker cover is deformed and will leak oil, i hope that helps
